a post about my kiddies

today is a good day at work. i think it’s better than my first day because i know what to expect and i’m glad to see familiar faces. i was afraid that the kids won’t like me, and working at a daycare .. that would be a problem. but i suppose i am a worrywart because they are adorable and we get along so well even though they have to listen to me. everyone wanted me to play with them .. which was bothersome because i was like their new shiny toy. the kiddies are mostly under the age of three, and so they are so adorable. during my first day, fabian kept crying. he cried for over two hours and i swear i got a headache from him. he’s three, and not used to being left alone at all. also, he spoke no english but cantonese and i didn’t realize how much i sucked at canto till that day. it was agonizing watching and hearing him cry. to think that i spent years with my cousins in the past that i would learn at least some canto, but every broken phrase i attempt to say came out pretty much mandarin. i realize that perhaps i actually learned some mando through the five+ years at chinese school and two+ years in high school. the funny thing is that my broken cantonese made him pause crying to try to understand what i’m trying to say. HAHA. of course, it’s only a few seconds of silent bliss before he broke down in tears again. today, he cried much less. he cried the first five minutes after his mom left and then he followed me like a shadow majority of the day. he won’t listen though and it’s such a hassle chasing after him because he thinks it’s a game -_- i was so tired. he has very long eyelashes .. i’m jealous :(

there’s isabella, who is three but she can read. she’s the tiniest little thing ever but she’s confident and happy. her favorite color is pink, and she loves mermaids. she cries easily and she smiles easily. today she cried when her mom left and got angry and used a plastic hammer to bang on everything and make noises. she’s one of those kids where you can’t catch a break because she squirms and runs around everywhere. when she’s super happy, she lets out random shrieks. i think she’s my favorite to play with because she has a sense of humor. she’s so cute but lazy. when she had to pack up all her belongings into her tiny princess backpack, she won’t do it and asks if we could help her. hehe, she also gave me a sticker for doing a “great job” today. still, she’s a handful to deal with :( 

i don’t even want to talk about the guys because they are so bad and tattletale on each other 24/7. this one boy, calvin has a really bad temper but he’s like bff with this other boy clinton. so sad that they kinda left this other boy jacob out. he’s out of the loop for all their activities. i remember on the first day when clinton and jacob were partners and calvin just butt in and stole clinton :( poor jacob. but jacob listens to me so i like that. but yeah, there’s a bunch more guys who are so bad. makes my job so much harder. oh, and there’s this other poor boy, nathan. the first day, he bumped his head on the door walking out which was so sad because it was really loud so i’m sure it hurts. and then today, calvin accidentally kicked him in the head while trying to bboy -_- i told him so many times not to .. especially not on the rug when everyone is there. ugh, he hits his mom too :( because the other day when she went to pick him up he didn’t want to leave yet. well today, ashlyn and her sister, hayley. they are so cute. hayley is young and quiet but she cried at the park because she wanted ashlyn to play with her. i think she was lonely but even when she was super sad, she was still so quiet. it’s so cute when she runs to ashlyn to hug her. she’s only two :) i also like tiffany, who gave me a toy, but she walks away from me when i talk to her .. LOLOL.
